Lake Isle is a charming unincorporated community nestled in the heart of central Alberta, Canada. It is situated within the boundaries of Lac Ste. Anne County. The community is conveniently located on the shore of Isle Lake, just 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) north of Highway 16, and approximately 82 kilometres (51 mi) west of Edmonton.
Lake Isle's history is deeply rooted in the Yellowhead Trail fur trade route, which connected Lac Ste. Anne and Jasper. The community began to take shape with the opening of the first school in 1913. Unfortunately, the school was destroyed by a fire in 1920, but a new one was promptly built and served the community until the consolidation of schools in 1947.
In 1915, the first store in Lake Isle was opened by Ted Bigland, a freighter and storekeeper. This marked a significant milestone in the community's development. The Canadian Northern Railway was also constructed along the Yellowhead route, further enhancing the community's connectivity and growth.
